Eva's FIRST school field trip

Image
Today, Eva went on her first ever school field and she was soooo excited.  I was excited and nervous at the same time.  It made me realize that my little girl was growing up even more and I am sure not liking it.  They went to a local place called Cosley Zoo.  They have a lot of typical farm animals but did have a few animals that you would be able to find in the zoo as well.  Eva loved being there but I think enjoyed it even more because I was able to be apart of it with her.  She wanted to show me everything.  She also like that she got to go to the zoo on the big yellow school bus.  Every day she asks me when does she get to ride the school bus on a regular basis and when I sat down at thought about it, the answer I came up with was Fall 2011.  What?  That is way to soon, and that is when she will be in   Kindergaten                ...

Watching the Ducks

Image
Yesterday, Eva and I took a walk to a pond that is walking distance from our townhouse to go look at some ducks and geese.  We were taking advantage of Maggie sleeping and spending some time just Eva and Mommy.  Eva was so excited to see the ducks and the geese.  There were a pair of Mallard ducks and another male Mallard duck.  The one male duck was picking fights with the pair of ducks and they ended up flying away.  Eva was so fascinated by this.  She also keep repeating the geese when they would honk at each other.  It was so nice sitting outside enjoying the weather and spending some quality time with my Eva. After we finished looking at the ducks, we headed to the park.  We are blessed that there are several parks to choose from and they are all through the park district.  Before we were left the pond, I was able to snap these pictures.  It is very difficult at times to get a picture of Eva looking at the camera and she always d...

First Trip to the Dentist

Today I took both Eva and Maggie to the dentist for the first time.  I have been trying to find a dentist that will see children for the age of 5 and it has been a huge hassle.  Finally I was able to find one.  Eva was very nervous and cautious to go in at first but quickly warmed up.  She really well with getting the x-rays done and listened to the dental hygenist. When the dentist cleaned her teeth she did really well.  I was so proud of her.  The dentist said it is very normal for her to grind her teeth and that 80% of children do and if it continues to happen when she is 14 or 15 that there will be more concern about it.  She had no cavitities.  Maggie was not interested in getting her teeth cleaned or getting the x-rays done.  The dentist said that she was able to suck on her fingers until she is about 4 but to encourage her to stop now.  Her teeth in the front are starting to buck outward.

Maggie's 2 year old well visit

Maggie had her two year old well visit on Thursday and I was very anxious to see how much she has grown. Maggie is growing very well.  Her weight is in between the 25th and 50th percentile.  Her length is in the 50th percentile and her head circimference is in the 75th percentile.  I am not a mom that gets all bent out of shape because either of my children wheren't in the 75th to 100th percentile the enitre time.  Every child grows at their own rate.  Her doctor was very pleased with how she is growing and was glad that she was walking and trying to say more two and three word sentences.   The doctor also suggested try giving her foods that have milk in them to see what she had tolerate and what she can not tolerate.  I was thrilled to hear this.  She had to recieve two shots and I always hate this part.  But she did pretty well, only cried durning the actually getting the shots and was fine afterward. Weight: Birth: 7 lbs 9 oz 1...

Another Health Update

On Thursday April 1st, I finally had my cystoscope procedure to find out what is causing my right kidney and both urtheras to back up with fluid and to be swollen. My doctor told my husband that both my urtheras are bigger than the normal and the closer they get to my bladder the smaller they become. She had placed two different stents on my urtheras to see if that will help reduce the swelling. If it does work, then it was caused from scar tissue from my c-sections and if it doesn't work than it is somthing that I was born with and if that is the case, I will have to have yearly check-ups to make sure that my kidney fuction is still good. I will keep you al posted when I have the stents removed and find it if that worked or not.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

On Thursday, Jim and I had our first Parent/Teacher conference for Eva. It was really strange for me to be on the other side of the conference, because I was pretty used to giving them but being the parent of the child that is recieving it. Eva is doing really well and growing by leaps and bounds. She is having a hard time listening and following the rules but she is the youngest child in the class, so it is more understandable. She is doing really well academically, she just needs a little help with writing the letters in her name more legiablly and recognizing the numbers. She knows all shapes except the square. But other than that she is doing GREAT. I was very nervous about the whole thing because I was concerned that Eva's teacher was going to tell me that she was a "bad" child. Which I know she isn't but she is alot like her dad, so we were really pleased how the conference turned out. We also are going to register her preschool for the fall, not sure if...
