Kids Against Hunger

Today Jim and I volenteered for an organization called KIDS AGAINST HUNGER. We helped put together meal packets for the starving people in the Latin America Country of Nicaragua. It is now the poorest country in Latin America, it is even worse then Haiti. It was such an amazing feeling to know that we were making a difference in a child or a family's life. It was the greatest feeling in the world. The following information is from their website which is www.kidsagainsthungar.org . The mission of Kids Against Hunger, a humanitarian food-aid organization, is to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. Kids Against Hunger is not affiliated with or restricted to a particular religious group and does not discriminate on any basis when distributing its meals. Some of the organization’s volunteers and affiliates are driven by their love of God and helping to feed all of His children, but all religions and non-religio

Date Night with Jim

I was very excited because I had a date with my hubby tonight. Even though we didn't go out but it was still nice to be able to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie without the girls bother us every two seconds. We watched the movie "Lonely Hearts," it was about a couple who would convince rich older women that the guy was in love with them, he would marry them and he and his "sister" would basically rob them. Their were a couple of times when the couple would kill the women. They end up getting caught and recieve the electric chair. It was a good movie. It had John Travolta, James Gandolfini, and Jared Leto. We also watched the movie "Black Hawk Down," which is based on a true event. It takes place in the early 1990s, when Untied States is helping stop genocide in the African conutry of Somalila. Several humvees and helicopters go into the "hot zone" too raid this buliding where there is too be a couple top leaders of the miltia t

Our Little Walker

Below are a couple pictures I have been able to take of Maggie starting to walk. On Halloween we made a joke that she wasn't able to go trick or treating because she wasn't walking, so she got up and starting walking around the house. She has been doing it more and more each day. She is getting pretty good. We joke with her and call her "Our Little Frankenstien." It is so exciting to watch her grow and achieve skills that she wasn't doing before. I love watching her facial expressions when she achieves something, her entire face lights up as she gets so excited and starts clapping her hands and jumps up and down.

Bible Study Session 7

This past week we read the entire book of Numbers. It first starts off with the Lord wanting Moses to do a cenus of the Israelites but to do it buy the tribes of Jacob. Most of the book is about is about how the Israelites will construct the tabernacle and all of its furnishings. Also talks about how the tribe of the Levites will be the priests and what their responsiblities will be. There were a couble of different people rebellion against Moses, including his sister Miarim and brother Aaron. The Lord's response to Miraim was making her a leper. The book ends with the death of Moses and Moses passing the reigns too Joshua.
