37 Week Check-up

So I had my first of three weekly appointments this morning.  Everything is looking good and progressing along.  My weight and measurements are still perfect and I have gained almost 2 lbs in the last week, which my total  weight gain a little over 5 lbs.  My blood pressure was a little high for me but still in the normal range,  which makes me a little concerned but I am trying not to focus on it.  It was also confirmed that I am more than likely been experiencing some Braxton Hick contractions that had started on Monday.  I am also about 1 cm dilated but my cervix hasn't started thinning out, which only means a matter of time.  So it looks like that the little guy could come any day now.  I am relieved that yesterday I did decide to get my hospital bag ready just for this purpose, because you never know.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Marbled Cookies

I found this recipe on Facebook and decided to try it.  It was so good. INGREDIENTS: 1 pouch (17.5 oz.) peanut butter cookie mix 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided 1 tablespoon water 1 egg 2 tablespoons HERSHEY'S Cocoa About 36 REESE'S Minis Peanut Butter Cups DIRECTIONS  Heat oven to 375°F.  Stir cookie mix, 2 tablespoons oil, water and egg in medium bowl until soft dough forms. Set aside 1 cup dough. Add cocoa and remaining 1 tablespoon oil to remaining dough, blending well. Roll together a pinch of peanut butter dough and a pinch of chocolate dough to make 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookie surface is set. Remove from oven to wire rack. Cool 2 to 3 minutes; press mini peanut butter cup at an angle into each cookie. Cool completely. About 3 dozen cookies.

1st Day of First Grade

Eva was so excited last night about school starting that she had a hard time falling asleep.  Needless to say i was a bit nervous that it was going to be a pain to get up this morning but I was totally wrong.  When I started waking her up, she began to stretch and asked "Is it morning already?"  When I responded "yes" she flew out of her bed as if her room was on fire.  She was showered and dressed by 7:15 am and we had 15 minutes to spare before we had to leave for school.  I am glad that she was this happy to go back school.
