Fun with Uncle Bob

Yestreday the girls and I picked up Bob from his friend Ray's house and we really didn't have much planned because Bob had plans to go out with his wife, Karen and some of her friends.  Eva and Maggie both enjoyed goofing around with Bob and showing off their dress-up clothes to him.  They haven't seen Bob and Karen since Christmas so it was going to be a fun filled weekend.

So today I took the girls to a new park called the Kingston park, while we waiting for Uncle Bob to come back to the house.  They both really enjoyed because there was 2 different playgrounds.  One for older kids and one for younger ones.  The had both regular and infant swings but the highlight for the girls was that there was a sandbox.  Was very surprised that Maggie loved playing in the sand.


So around mid afternoon we went to Lisle's Eyes to the Skies Carnival and Festival.  It was so much fun, and the girls had a blast.  We were able to get them 44 tickets to use to go some of the rides.  Eva was able to go on alot of them and Maggie was able to go on a few and I was very glad about that.  Eva went on a Dragon Rollercoaster, the Swings, the Merry-go-round, the Inchworm, Sizzler, a train ride and another ride that I forgot the name too.  Maggie was able to go on the Inchworm, the train ride, and Merry-go-round.  Jim went on the Ichworm the first time with Maggie and then Eva went with the second time.  I went on the Merry-go-round with the girls and went on the sizzler with Eva.  So looking forward to next year.

So after the carnival we just relaxed and watched some movies.  We ordered some pizza hut for dinner.  At about 9:45, the fireworks started and I took Eva outside to watch them with me.  She acutally did enjoy them and wasn't too afraid of the load noise until the end when they start shooting them off rapidly.  I was very glad that she did like them. 

"Mom, I really like the fireworks. We need to go to Naperville now to see more fireworks."

Potty Training

Maggie is doing really well with potty training.  We started about 2 weeks ago with really pushing her to go on the potty and it helped too that she was showing more and interest with going.  She is wearing pull-ups and goes on the potty at least 2-3 times a day.  She has gone number #2 once on her potty but hasn't done it since.  She also has started telling me that she has to go potty, her pull-up is ususally dry and she does go.  Even when her pull-up is dirty, she sometimes will still on her potty and goes as well.  My goal is too get her in underwear and potty trainded by April when she turns 3 because next fall she will be in preschool.

 When Eva graduated from 8th grade all she wanted was a pair of old school Michael Jordan shoes that were black, white and blue.  So that is what we got her.  Now for Maggie we wanted to something to make her feel special since she had a difficult time with the whole COVID-19 pandemic.  She has always loved musicals, so we got her tickets for her and Jim to go see the musical WICKED.  They finally went tonight, and they loved it.  Jim said it was better than the first time he saw it with me.  They enjoyed a nice dinner on the 21st floor of a hotel and had 4 row tickets in orchestra section.  So glad that she felt like a princess.
