First Week of School
This week was Eva's first week of school and needless to say I was very sadden by this. I am very glad that she loves to go to school so much and is so eager to learn new things, but it just forces me to realize that she is growing up faster than I would like her to be. I really like her teacher and she has been doing this for many years and is still energetic when the children come into the class in the morning and when they leave for the day.
Eva will be learning a lot of things that will get ready for KINDERGARTEN next year, and definitely not ready for that. She will be practicing on writing her name more clearly and how to hold a writing utensil the correct way. They will be going over her colors and basic shapes and will be introducing ones like parallelogram, hexagon and octagon.
They will be learning the letters of the alphabet and how to write each letter. The teacher isn't going to start with the letter Aa but will start with the letters that are easier for children to write, like the letter Tt. With each letter they learn they will be learning what sounds that letter makes and what words start with that letter. They will be doing projects with the letter of the week as well.
Each week I will be doing the letter of the week, just to show Eva's progress in learning her letters. I hoping that this will be a learning for me as a parent and for other parents and teachers.
