Parent/Teacher Conferences

On Thursday, Jim and I had our first Parent/Teacher conference for Eva. It was really strange for me to be on the other side of the conference, because I was pretty used to giving them but being the parent of the child that is recieving it. Eva is doing really well and growing by leaps and bounds. She is having a hard time listening and following the rules but she is the youngest child in the class, so it is more understandable. She is doing really well academically, she just needs a little help with writing the letters in her name more legiablly and recognizing the numbers. She knows all shapes except the square. But other than that she is doing GREAT. I was very nervous about the whole thing because I was concerned that Eva's teacher was going to tell me that she was a "bad" child. Which I know she isn't but she is alot like her dad, so we were really pleased how the conference turned out. We also are going to register her preschool for the fall, not sure if...

Today we really had a wonderful time celebrating Jim's 30th Birthday today. He said he doesn't really feel any older than he did when he was 29. My mom, stepdad, my Uncle Jim, Lorene, Melanie and Mary and Nathan, as well as Jim's mom Kathy and sister Beth, were apart of the festivites. Jim wanted me to make this 3 layer cake called 1-2-3-4 Cake by Paula Dean with his mom's homemade frosting, it acutally came out pretty could for my first time making a 3-layer cake. Bunk Beds

Image
Jim and I got a decent tax return and we already have recieved it. So we decided that we wanted to get the girls a new beds and get them out of their playpens. We have been looking for several months on the "perfect" one. We wanted it be sturdy and safe, since the last bed we had for them fell apart in our move last year. So the picture below is the bed we finally found and we both fell in love with it. I really love how it has the draws in the steps and under the bottom bunk. The girls room is very small so this will free up a lot of room in their bedroom. We will eventually get a small dresser for their room so their TV, dvd player and humdifier are off the floor. I will post pictures of the girls on the beds once it gets delivered and we put it together.

Valentine's Day Mothers' Tea

Image
When she first saw me The decorations that were on the wall behind the children while they were singing Standing in front of the ladybug she made So today was Eva's preschool Annual Valentine's Day Mothers' Tea. It was so wonderful. It was in the schools gym and there were tables that were decorated and each table had a the teachers name on them. So then I was able to find Eva's name and there was a seat for me. The places were set with a dessert for the kids and the moms. At the spots for the moms were special placemats, cards and gifts that were made by the children. There were three other classes besides Eva's that sang today. They sand 3 songs all together and then each class sang 2 songs. It was so much fun and it was a proud moment for me and I am so glad and proud to Eva's mom. Singing one of the her songs Part of her class So excited to sing and seeing me

Friday Fourteen

I saw this idea on several other peopls's blogs. Where they would write about a certain number of things that they liked or that was their favorite books or whatever they wanted. One person did every topic that she was writing about with the number 5 and another person did the number 10. And they would pick a day of the week that they wanted. So I decided that I really liked this idea and so I picked the day of Friday because it seems that I really don't ever have anything going on this day. Then I picked the number 14 since I have a hard time narrowing things down. So the first "Friday Fourteen" is my 14 of my favorite pictures of my oldest daughter Eva, mind you I have way more than fourteen but I picked fourteen of them. 14 of my favorite pictures of my Eva 1. Eva 11 days after she has entered my life.......She is just a blessing. Aug 12, 2006(my 25th bday) 2. Her "FIRST" school picture.........Preschool, Gentle Learning Preschool 2009-2010 3. Eva's...
