First Trip to the Dentist

Today I took both Eva and Maggie to the dentist for the first time.  I have been trying to find a dentist that will see children for the age of 5 and it has been a huge hassle.  Finally I was able to find one.  Eva was very nervous and cautious to go in at first but quickly warmed up.  She really well with getting the x-rays done and listened to the dental hygenist. When the dentist cleaned her teeth she did really well.  I was so proud of her.  The dentist said it is very normal for her to grind her teeth and that 80% of children do and if it continues to happen when she is 14 or 15 that there will be more concern about it.  She had no cavitities.  Maggie was not interested in getting her teeth cleaned or getting the x-rays done.  The dentist said that she was able to suck on her fingers until she is about 4 but to encourage her to stop now.  Her teeth in the front are starting to buck outward.

Maggie's 2 year old well visit

Maggie had her two year old well visit on Thursday and I was very anxious to see how much she has grown. Maggie is growing very well.  Her weight is in between the 25th and 50th percentile.  Her length is in the 50th percentile and her head circimference is in the 75th percentile.  I am not a mom that gets all bent out of shape because either of my children wheren't in the 75th to 100th percentile the enitre time.  Every child grows at their own rate.  Her doctor was very pleased with how she is growing and was glad that she was walking and trying to say more two and three word sentences.   The doctor also suggested try giving her foods that have milk in them to see what she had tolerate and what she can not tolerate.  I was thrilled to hear this.  She had to recieve two shots and I always hate this part.  But she did pretty well, only cried durning the actually getting the shots and was fine afterward. Another Health Update

On Thursday April 1st, I finally had my cystoscope procedure to find out what is causing my right kidney and both urtheras to back up with fluid and to be swollen. My doctor told my husband that both my urtheras are bigger than the normal and the closer they get to my bladder the smaller they become. She had placed two different stents on my urtheras to see if that will help reduce the swelling. If it does work, then it was caused from scar tissue from my c-sections and if it doesn't work than it is somthing that I was born with and if that is the case, I will have to have yearly check-ups to make sure that my kidney fuction is still good. I will keep you al posted when I have the stents removed and find it if that worked or not.
